You can also buy extra moves with gems, if you don't mind spending money on the gems. Once you get to only 30 moves per ad, you feel like you're watching ads all the time. Every ad after that only gives you 30 extra moves, which isn't a lot. For example, the first 2 ads you watch will give you 60 and then 40 extra moves if you're playing with moves rather than time. Since the areas are huge, it's impossible to thoroughly explore them and complete bonus quests without getting more moves/time. There's an ad in between every level and ads for extra moves or time in the Match-3 area. The nice thing about them is they reward you with gems, the game's currency.Īnother annoying thing about this game is that the ads are constant. Some of them require huge amounts of your resources, which can be frustrating. You also don't have the option of picking and choosing quests or deleting ones you might not want to do.
If you have everything you need for the quest when it pops up, it auto-completes and you don't even get to read the quest. As I mentioned, the storyline is short and then it ends, and all you get are random quests from characters you've never met once that happens. I only gave this game 3 stars, though, because there are some major problems. Seeing the town change is a fun part of the game. Sending tribute carts (resources, runes, and items) to the king gives you upgrades for your town and in the Match-3 levels. It's only the first 50 levels or so, which was disappointing. There's a storyline with voice acting, but that doesn't last for the majority of the game. In addition to making matches, you can open treasure chests with keys you find in sparkling areas or by doing lock pick puzzles. There are also fun mini-puzzles inside the Match-3 areas that open up larger sections of the levels.
Jumping around the level is a great way to save on moves or time since there are a limited number of those. There is also an item to match that refills certain boosters and one that refills your jump meter. You make easy matches of resources (gold, wood, and stone) in order to collect those resources and move around the levels. The Match-3 part is more like exploration than the usual puzzle, which I really loved. This game is different from most Match-3 games.
